A solid investment for long-term farming

One of the biggest challenges in agriculture is profitability. In an industry that has long provided raw materials and allowed others to process the product, it is difficult to maintain high margins. With your own solar power plant, this changes and you as a landowner can provide a pre-processed product straight to the consumer, without intermediaries.

Use inferior land to build your own solar park

Areas that are not suitable as productive arable land can be excellent for your own solar power plant. A prerequisite, of course, is that the ground is suitable for supporting poles and that it is not obscured by nearby forest that can cast long shadows.

10-15 times higher returns

The yield of a solar power plant can be estimated to be 10-15 times higher than cereal cultivation. But don’t worry, we’re not asking you to abandon nice farmland. But usually you can find a couple of hectares that are not quite optimal for cultivation, but could be used instead and become a nice addition to the rest of the business.

Smoothing the revenue flow

Worth considering is also the fact that a solar power plant provides a good differentiation of the income flow on the farm. Dry, warm years with little rain result in low grain yields. In these years you have lots of sunshine and usually high electricity prices – bingo for the solar power plant.
