Background
In Vikaryd, just outside Alingsås, you will find first-class locally produced meat. Here they raise both calves and lambs that can be purchased directly from the farm or from nearby grocery stores.
Solution
The large barn that also houses the farm shop has a perfect roof facing south-southwest. In 2018, 396 monocrystalline solar panels were mounted as three rectangles on the roof, creating a nice symmetry.
Result
Investing in solar energy is fully in line with the farm’s ambition to produce everything locally. The photovoltaic system produces about 60% of the farm’s total electricity consumption.
